What is Image Cropper?
An image cropper is a tool that lets you remove unwanted parts of a picture and keep only the area that matters. Cropping is one of the most common editing tasks because it solves everyday problems quickly. A photo may include too much empty space, a screenshot may contain private content, or a profile image may need to fit a square frame. ToolJi Image Cropper is designed for those moments when you want a clean result without opening a complex editing app.
The ToolJi cropper keeps the experience simple: upload an image, select the crop area and download the cropped file. The editor gives you familiar controls such as zoom, pan, crop handles, rotate, flip, undo, redo and reset, but it avoids making the first screen feel complicated. Common ratios are available as large chips, and smart presets help with passport photos, Aadhaar, PAN Card, social media profiles and document photos.
Everything runs locally in your browser. That means your images are not sent to a remote server for cropping. The preview you see and the download you create are generated on your device using browser image and canvas features.
How to Crop Images?
Start by dragging an image into the upload area, choosing a file from your device, selecting one from your mobile gallery or pasting an image from your clipboard. ToolJi accepts JPG, PNG and WEBP files. Once the image opens, the upload screen becomes a full editor with a dark canvas, a large preview and a crop frame. Move the crop frame by dragging inside it, or resize it with the handles.
If the photo is not positioned correctly inside the crop area, drag the image itself to pan it. Use the zoom slider or mouse wheel to bring the subject closer. Rotate left or right if the image is sideways. Flip horizontally or vertically when you need a mirrored result. If you change your mind, Undo and Redo are available in the top toolbar. Reset returns the editor to a clean starting point.
Choose an aspect ratio from the bottom toolbar when the crop needs to fit a specific use. Free mode lets you resize the crop frame without a fixed ratio. Square mode is useful for profile photos. 16:9 works well for thumbnails and widescreen images. 9:16 is built for stories and vertical posts. Passport and smart document presets make ID-style cropping faster for common Indian workflows.

Supported Formats
JPG / JPEG
Best for camera photos, portraits, product shots and small sharing files.
PNG
Best when sharp edges, interface screenshots or transparency matter.
WEBP
Best for modern websites and small high-quality web images.
You can upload JPG, PNG and WEBP images and export the final crop as JPEG, PNG or WEBP. JPEG is usually the right choice for everyday photos. PNG is better for transparent images, icons, screenshots and graphics with crisp edges. WEBP is a modern option that often produces smaller files while keeping good visual quality.
Why ToolJi?
ToolJi focuses on useful tools that work quickly and respect privacy. Many online editors feel heavy because they ask you to create an account, upload a file, wait for processing or deal with too many panels. ToolJi Image Cropper follows a smaller promise: help you finish the crop in seconds. The interface is direct, the buttons are large, and the workflow follows the same three-step path every time.
The cropper also fits with other ToolJi image utilities. You can crop an image, compress it for sharing, prepare a passport photo sheet or later use tools such as image resizing, converting and background removal. The goal is not to replace professional software. The goal is to make common image jobs easier for everyone.
Privacy
Privacy matters when images include faces, documents, business screenshots, account pages, addresses or family photos. ToolJi Image Cropper does not upload your image. The browser reads the file on your device, shows it in the editor and creates the cropped result locally. There is no server-side crop step and no cloud processing queue.
This local approach is useful for identity photos, school forms, job applications, product listings, social media images and private screenshots. You can crop out sensitive information before sharing the final file. When you leave the page, the temporary browser object URLs are cleared by the browser session.
Tips
Put the subject near the center of the crop and leave a little breathing room around faces, products and text. For profile photos, square crops usually look best because most apps display them inside a circle. For passport and document photos, keep the head and shoulders visible and avoid cutting too close to the hair or chin.
For Instagram Stories, use 9:16. For YouTube thumbnails, use 16:9 and keep important text away from the edges. For Facebook covers and LinkedIn banners, preview the crop on desktop and mobile because those platforms may display the same image differently. When transparency matters, choose PNG output. When file size matters most, try WEBP after cropping.
If the image looks too close, zoom out or enlarge the crop frame. If the subject is too small, zoom in and drag the image until the important part sits inside the frame. The live preview updates as you edit, so you can make small adjustments before downloading.
